Dear Susan and Bernard,
I’m thinking of both of you
with enormous gratitude. I loved my first Nobleair girl, Mountain Belle, so very
much. She was my best companion for twelve years. Now, I love my second Nobleair
girl, Daisy Duke, just as much. Daisy is 19 months old and became a service dog
6 months ago. When I walk, Daisy steadies me. She also accompanies me alongside
my scooter. She picks up things for me, opens and closes doors, turns lights on
and off, and pulls a cart. Daisy does so many things that a complete list would
be a bore. Daisy loves to do her work! In the incredible way of the Bouvier,
Daisy understands her job and anticipates my needs so well that she often does
what I want her to do before I have to ask her to do it.
I was so proud of Daisy last
week. We were in a store called Muttropolis that was crammed with people and
dogs of all sizes having their picture taken with a Santa. To keep Daisy’s
training sharp, I cued Daisy to do a down and stay. Amidst the hubbub, a
Labrador puppy pulled its leash free from restraint, ran up to Daisy, placed its
stomach atop Daisy’s head and paws on either side. Daisy stayed put! Daisy not
only acted as if nothing had happened but did so with a happy, relaxed
expression on her face.
Daisy is a big girl – about 85
pounds and still filling out. She is very healthy
and strong. Daisy is all that
I love in a Bouvier. I am so happy I traveled all the way from Arizona to you in
Ontario to get her. I so appreciate her high degree of sensitivity, amazing
intelligence, generous and proud heart, and fun sense of humor. Daisy is more
active than my first Bouvier, which is good, since she needs the higher level of
energy to enjoy the work of a service dog. For exercise and fun, Daisy loves to
retrieve Kong tennis balls and chase hummingbirds in the yard.
To have one great dog in a
lifetime is an extraordinary joy and blessing. Thanks to you, I am twice
blessed.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank
You!

When I started looking for my bouvier puppy, I was so
frustrated and discouraged in the beginning. I couldn't
seem to find a breeder to talk to that gave me confidence in
both themselves and their dogs, to feel secure enough to
commit to a puppy. I had a very bad experience with a
German Sheperd Dog a few years earlier with very poor nerves and many health
issues, so I was very worried about a recurrence of the
same. As soon as I spoke with Susan and Bernard , they gave
me total confidence in all of those areas!
Their experience as well as common sense and down to earth
approach was totally refreshing and soon I was excited to be
on their reservation list. Knowing I had an interest in
competitive obedience, they chose Vena for me. Over the
past two and a half years that I've had Vena, Nobleair has provided
support in every aspect of dog ownership as well as giving excellent training
advice. I have a fantastic, excellent temperament
companion with a high level of trainability in one quiet
package. Despite her young age and in a limited number of
trials, Vena has many titles already to her credit in both
CKC as well as in the dogsport of Schutzhund!
Thank you Susan and Bernard for this incredible animal!

Marley’s
very first exposure to different animals was with our ducks and chickens. Over
her first week home she started rounding up the flock into two different
groups. Chickens and ducks were not allowed to mix and the chickens were only
allowed on the east side of the property. Even though it was fun to watch and
neat to see such an ability to accomplish a task, I had to break that habit as
it was not what I wanted from her. It was too stressful for the birds.
Marley has
now been in contact with many different animals and knows what behavior is
expected. Just like Moon, she can be trusted to beat her instincts and behave
properly. Don’t catch the dove, move gently around cats, don’t eat the ferret,
don’t run around the horses, be nice to the baby deer, don’t bite back the Jack
Russel hanging on your beard…Marley’s behavior is great…..
I
constantly ask her to perform different tasks for me, from bringing me objects,
jumping over obstacles, to simply accompanying me from here to there or giving
me a hug. On new commands she keeps second guessing my orders, but as she
learns more it also gets easier and easier to teach her more. Marley is
challenging but also promising.
